Speaker: Dr. Robert L. Worden, author 

Dr. Robert L. Worden, who served 38 years at the Library of Congress and a collateral descendant of Rear Admiral John Lorimer Worden, will speak about his latest book From Ironclad to Admiral: John Lorimer Worden and Naval Leadership that he co-authored with John V. Quarstein. Rear Adm Worden had a 52-year career as an innovative commander who helped move the U.S. Navy out of the age of sail and into the era of ironclad technology. He married local resident Olivia Akin Toffey and they spent time in Pawling, where he is buried. This lecture is co sponsored by the Pawling Historical Society.
